What do you love most about your specialty? / Why did you choose your specialty?
I picked Internal Medicine as my specialty because of the focus on understanding how the body works and why things happen. Internists get to connect the dots and understand the whole person. primary care is special because of the ability to get to know people over the long term. In addition to the science, I get to learn about different eras, cultures and parts of the world from my patients. To better understanding of care for patient through each life, I studied public health and anti-aging in New York, and got Master of Public Health (MPH) certification. The reason why I studied in US is that US is ahead of Japan in public health, preventive medicine and anti-aging research. In the course of studying Behavioral Science, Epidemiology, Health Promotion, Nutrition, Life-style Medicine, Population health, I recognize and stresses the importance of disease prevention. At my clinic, I combine skills and experience in clinical care and public health to prevent disease, injury and death from broader perspective.
